Hey guys. Want to reach out and get your input on a project gonna do this winter. The metal trim around the front windshield, black in color, has developed a few imperfections and chips over the years. Ive been touching it up with a black sharpie, but would like to fix it the right way. I know they sell replacement trim, but mine is overall in good shape, and I’m afraid if I try to pry the old one out, which has been there since 1987, I may actually chip the paint on the body and create a worse problem than I have now. Was just gonna mask off around the edge, both outside and inside, and order the exterior trim paint from LMR and go to town. Any thoughts? Will lightly sand it and use some brake clean to remove any oil, grease, wax etc. Am I missing anything?
