Trip odometer gearwheel

Yours broke also........ Mine just broke a month ago on my '96,and it just hit 100,000 miles. How many miles does your car have?

I had asked around here earlier about replacing the odometer gear that rides against that motor shaft.I was told by someone that replacing the gauge cluster may be the only option and to go to a website that sells salvage Mustang parts. After looking through various parts on this site,I decided I would never even consider buying anything from them. How outrageous the prices are...for parts that were removed from junk cars. They wanted $250 for a used gauge cluster for '94 - '98 Mustangs.Hell,I dont think so.For the price they sell a used door lock cylinder I could pay the same price for a new one.

Keep asking around as there has to be a way to replace just the gear instead of the whole damn thing.I've gone well over a month with this thing broken and it bugs the hell out of me not knowing how many miles I put on it.And it can also mess with your insurance + title.Another reason you dont want to buy a used gauge cluster.

does your speedo still work?
that is a gear for the speedo - if you change gears, you need a new gear to get the speedo back into calibration.

so i dont think this will help with your odometer (you are looking for a gear that is internal in the speedometer gauge, i presume). im lookin for one for the 4th gen camaro too.

good luck and bump.
