Truck Lower Intakes

Back in the day I remember reading that the lower intakes on EFI trucks were better. Is there any truth to this. If so what year, etc. Are they any better than the Explorer, Cobra, etc. ? I also rember that they may be taller.

the ports are pretty huge, but the transitions arent very great....real sharp curves especially on cylinders 1, 4, 5 &8

The upper intake is HUGE though and won't fit under a 5.0's hood.

The stock upper intake won't work either because the ports are different. I beleive Holley uses the truck lower with a different upper intake as it's systemmax kit. Could be another aftermarket intake i am thinking of if not that one

Holley Systemax II is the intake he is talking about. From all of my research it's an excellent intake combo.

I have a Ford truck lower and Holley Systemax II upper for sale that I'd originally planned to use on my EFI swap, however it wouldn't clear my valvecovers. PM me if you're interested, I'm willing to let it go fairly cheap...

So the only upper that will fit are the truck upper or the systemax II, Cobra or Explorer won't. Let me think about Your set up.

Truck Lower/Holley Systemax II (same lower *pretty much*)

but the two are different.
