I am wanting to put a real oil pressure guage in the car. I wanted to know if anyone has done this and were do i need to connect the oil pressure line. I heard that I need to trace the dummy gauge back into the engine and just swap them out. Is this true?

The line needs to feed right behind your timing cover where the factory oil sender unit screws into the block...remove the sending unit and thread your line in its place...
Mines Tee'd off to run both the stock and the new gage...otherwise your stock gage will be dead...you can see the nipple/Tee set-up and the factory sender back in place...removing the oil filter makes access much easier..

If you dont have any place in mind to locate it....the AM steering column pod is a sweet set-up..its cheap and mounts in minutes and its right in view..just a thought..
