Trunk Weatherstripping Help.

Hey guys/gals, I'll be installing my new trunk weatherstrip soon and wasn't sure on one thing. When I install the strip, does the strip go flush against the channel when the lid is closed or does it have to make contact with the lip all the way around? Wasn't sure since I have no reference because my old strip is deteriorated beyond recognition. TIA.

it makes contact with the lip all the way around ,the flaps point in
make sure its all the way against the the inside of the chanel in the trunk lid or it wont close correctly .it will hold the lid up to high

Also make sure your trunk lid is lined up properly...If it's the original lid then you probably won't have any issues. I had a problem with my fiberglass one, had to end up removing it on one side and moving it out a little bit....but all is well now.

Thanks guys. That's what I thought on the weatherstripping going on the lip when the lid is closed. I shouldn't have any issues with aligning the lid since its the original. Appreciate your help.
