trying to learn photoshop

I am getting a little better at this but still need to learn how to do stripes, wheels, tint and lower.

Stripes:

Use the polygon lasso tool to draw the outline of the stripe, then once thats selected, go to Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation and have fun

Piece of advice.
Never draw on the original picture, it should be your background.
Instead make a new layer, lasoo the area copy/paste in the new layer, then go nuts. You can get decent effects just by modifying the compositing mode on the layer, what I do is select normal and move up and down with the up/down keys.

I dont see any pics, or are their even pics to see? How do you change colors and such?
