Are you sure your logged in? click manage attachments, then browse, then bring it up on your puter and double click on the pic. Then click on Attach. Then click done. Thats the only way without hosting it on another site.

finally worked
I pulled the engine and trans today, I was going to ring it and bearings, before adding all the stuff in signature. when I went to put the engine stand on I noticed one of the ears on the block that bolts to the tranny was gone.. been that way for a while, the way all the crap was around it..
What do i do now??? I would take a picture but can't put it online.
I can't trust this.. can I??
If not what engine do you recommend, a 306, 331, or 347? And from who?
I know the last time I was asking about strockers alot of people said chp was good, dss was good, I
I'm just looking for the best value for the money.. Thanks guys

Im no welder but I would think that could be fixed?? If not just go with a 331 short block.

I would say that could be welded up.. or a new piece could be welded on, and you could tap a new thread.

would it hold though, i mean this is a trans mount,, i might just go with the 331 and be done,,, Whats another 2 grand, hell this family filled adventures already put me 5 grand in the hole......lol

card...I would be done but not happier about the price.... I think i will just get a 331, the hole has alot of cracks in it and around it, and with adding all of this stuff with a blower, I'm nervous, also i was going to dump $200 into it with just rings and bearings.. The pistons really don't look too great, and the bearings look like they were wearing funky, but I'm not a ford man,so it might be normal.. I'm comparing it to the toyotas I've worked on thae last 13 years...

Don't be selfish! not everyone is going to run to "your" post! Geez.

Also, you are asking advise in something that could be a dangerous repair. No one wants to advise you fix it and have you damage your car or get hurt.

My advise is that if you do have it welded, have someone professional do it. Not Joe's backyard welding. And have them reinforce the area with iron plate or whatever matches (steel?)to ensure that it will hold up. No weld will ever be as strong as the original cast. But if you can get some additional metal on it to make it stronger, it should hold. It just may look unattrative visually. And then you will have to inspect the site on a regular basis to see if any cracks are starting to develop. Personnaly, I would not take the chance. And if I had to, I would not race it-assuming it was a daily driver. But that's just me.

Actually when you use the right welder and material for the application the weld will always be stronger then the peice it's hold together. The part fails before the weld does. I'm sure you can get it repaired, if a forum can't help you open up the yellow pages, and talk to a local machine shop.

That's not true at all.... a good weld will actually be stronger than the original piece. A GOOD weld - like BarnStang said, don't take it to Joe's Backyard Welding. Have it done by a professional who has a good rep. This shouldn't be a tough fix at all. They'll most likely weld in new material and re-tap a hole for you. Good as new!

It can be welded, drilled and tapped. Just make sure the person doing the welding knows what they're doing. The machine shop where you're going to have your other work done should be able to handle it easily.
