Trying To Revive My Mustang Help.

I'm new to all of this so go easy on me. I aquired an 88 Mustang and the tranny just blew up on me. I love this car and I want to save it but am lacking the knowledge to do it alone although thats exactly what Im trying to do. It's a automatic but I have almost all the parts to swap it to a manual. I have the parts that dont take a whole lot of brain power to know there right but Im starting to get lost. So here is one of my questions of anyone can help me 0ut, can I use a crossmember from a v8 Mustang on my 4cylinder Mustang?
