I remember hearing about a technical service bullitin that had something to do with a trasitor or relay or something thats supposed to prevent engine noise interference or something that fails...... any of this sound famialr to any of you guys??? Thanks

Sounds like maybe the AM suppressor? Little metal thing on the back of the ignition coil. Used to help with interference with the AM radio frequency. That might be it????

would this also cuase interference during fm and cd?

are you talking about the fuel pump? a sensor in the fuel pump makes a whining noise in the stereo system.

As far as I know the AM Suppressor only helps with interference in the AM frequency.

They only time I've ever had interference with my stereo was after I hooked up an aftermarket amp to power two pairs of components sets. The RCA wires leading to the amp were too close to the power wire to the amp and it caused a whine that correlated with engine RPMs.

I have not heard of the TSB, but the usual noise suppressors are for RFI.

Radio Frequency Interferance.

RFI filters help shield radios and electronics from interferance from things like ignitions.
