I'm looking to put on some ported npi heads with custom cams on my 98 GT. Will I be able to limp over to the tuner after the install?

Are the stop fuel pump and injectors sufficient? Can I rev up to 6500 rpm safely on the stock bottom end?

As long as the cams are degreed properly you shouldn't have any problems getting to your tuner.

As far as the fuel pump and injectors go, it depends on how drastic of a cam you're going with. You wont need to change fuel pumps but injectors may need to be upgraded.

Your bottom end will be perfectly fine. It's the valvetrain that you need to worry about. To hit 6500 you'll definitely need upgraded valve springs.

Well the person I'm getting them from doesn't know the flow numbers for the heads or the specs on the cam anymore. But the heads were ported by the same company that supplied the cams so I'm sure they put in proper valve springs. I believe he said the setup made 270 rwhp through an auto with these heads/cams and a ported SVO intake.

I drove my car(easily) for about 6 Monte after heads and cams without getting re tuned...I just stayed below 3k and never tried to drive fast...the only thing that sucked was it wouldn't idle for crap...no damage done at all from that
