Tune Needed For Long Tubes?

I'm helping a friend install some long tubes soon on an 02 GT with identical mods as my car. Will a tune be needed to keep the a/f from going crazy when driven aggressively or is it just icing on the cake?

I do not think a tune is required but my expertise in this area is pretty weak...

it may or may not be needed. some people experience a loss in power, and a surging idle. I personally didn't need a tune, but to gain the most power a tune would be best.

it seems many guys on here dont need a tune for some reason. i hope they are not just thinking the car is running fine so it dont need to be tuned.

i put my longtubes on and then wanted to get new dyno numbers. when they put my car on the dyno after the install the a/f was off . i needed a tune.
