Tune Up

I want to do a pretty mean tune up on Rita (2002 GT), she has 130,xxx miles, JMS tune, MAC H-pipe, Steeda Under drive Pullies, Steeda Tri-ax short throw, BBK CAI, not sure if that's relevant for this but just in case thier it is. What all should I do for a mean tune up?

Motorcraft spark plugs.
Check condition of coils and replace them if necessary.
Motorcraft PCV valve.
Motorcraft fuel filter.
Clean your MAF,IAC,and throttle body.
Change transmission fluid in your TR3650.
Inspect condition of shocks and struts.
Inspect condition of brake pads.

Put some Zmax in it.
I like ngk spark plugs.
Frpp spark plug wire.
trans & coolant flush.
fuel fliter.
recharger your cai.
maybe some new coils.

Some great suggestions in the thread esp fuel filter.

When you work with the plugs take it very seriously and clean everything esp the rubber boots. Clean the plug wells completely before you remove a plug.

Never heard of zmax I would use SeaFoam.

I put zmax in with every oil change.

I would use SeaFoam.

Seafoam works very well at taking away any carbon build up
you may have in your engine.I would Seafoam all three ways
to get the best results.The only problem with Seafoam is it
can possibly foul your spark plugs and I recommend changing
your spark plugs after you use the Seafoam.

I bet 99% of the people don't change plugs after seafoam with no problems.

If you have that type of mileage, it may be wise to replace oil pump and starter, while you're in there toss on a new timing set. With those things you should be able to keep going to well beyond 200k miles.

I put zmax in with every oil change.

throwing your money away on snake oil. it does nothing except make your wallet lighter. you would have the same or better results using just oil with no additives.

Everyone I know that has used Seafoam before changed their
spark plugs after they used Seafoam all three ways.
Enjoy the smoke show though!

isnt that a BIG expensive ordeal ?

im not neccessarily contradicting you, but isnt it somewhat rare for the oil pump to lay down on these car with just 130k on them?

You can't just 'replace' the oil pump dude. To replace the oil pump you pretty much have to rebuild the motor...
