Turbo Charge Question??

I am considdering perchasing a Turbo Kit for my 2003 ford mustang Gt. I however have no Idea where I can find a good kit and what PSI I should be looking at to make it work with my car? I was wondering if someone can advise on where I can find a good kit and what PSI I should I chose?

listen bro . If your gonna Turbocharge ur stang , do it right. The HP twin Turbo set up is , really good. But in my opinion go T88 on your stang. Atleast do some research about it. And dont let anyone tell you that it cant be done with a T88. I seen it . Its a bit costly but its sooo worth it. You gonna have to forge your internals before you get that set up.On the other hand , with the HP stage one twin set up.Stock internals can stand the 8psi that the turbos will produce as soon as you instal them without using a boost controller. But some people might not recomend that.Get a single (bigger) turbo then 2 small ones. If you need any help with turbochargers send me a private message.good luck

did you really just say put a T88 on a stock Mustang? its not a supra. :notnice: :rolleyes: V styled engines perform better with twin turbo setups. Inline engines perform better with a single turbo. I suggest reading some turbo books and mustang tuning books before posting crap like this.

get ready to fork over some cash. A twin setup is exactly what you want when going with a turbo setup. The HP setup will give you an easy 400+ hp at 4-8psi depending on the tune and your engine setup. On the stock engine, 400rwhp is the max you want. This will allow you to have a half way reliable car.

actually i was kinda offended when you said i posted Crap. So listen up. First of all if you knew anything about HP you SHOULD know that the basic (stage one) setup comes with 8psi already which will give a newer 99+ mustang 470HP NOT 400 :nonono: Second : i think your dumb and BLIND . A twin set up with smaller turbos might sound better since the smaller turbos spool quicker. But on the other hand I'm talking about a T88 here so that Stage one HP wont even get close to that power. I seen a guy instal a T88 on his Mustang right infront of me.As i said before it will cost too much but its well worth it. And in the long run it will be better then a twin set up, trust me on this one. and please if you want to criticize someone try to use better words then " before posting crap like this". Because obviously you dont know what your talking about :nono:

Dude, show some respect already if you're going to argue with people around here. Especially senior members. There's nothing to gain by calling people dumb, or blind.

Secondly, why are you stuck comparing the Stage 1 kit? You have been talking about T88's being better than the HP stage one. That's like the old commercials where Prego compared their thickest spaghetti sauce to Ragu Old World Style (Ragu's THINNEST,) then bragged because the Prego poured thicker. No kidding. Did you happen to notice the next stage up kit that made 700+? The guy asked what setup would be good for his car. I should've known better than to post a link without asking what his goals were, but everybody winds up asking about the HP kit regardless.

Newbie143, if you can find ways to argue your points with out disrespecting people you will be a lot better off my friend. Also, the higher the post count the more likely it is that they are right and you are wrong, not always but in most cases...

I think you may have posted before you thought things through and had time to calm down. ALL of us in this thread have been guilty of that.

I suggest you relax, perhaps retract some of what you said, and continue contributing here. It sounds like you have some good technical knowledge it would be a shame for the board to lose it because you cannot be polite :notnice:

Like was said, if you are thinking about turbo you need to really do some research. You need to learn about the ramifications of this expensive and substantial mod. To do twin turbo correctly you will need over $10,000 in my opinion. Your car will be very fast, but it is a long and expensive road to get there. There is no way you can just do this based on just getting advice from the internet. You need to take the time to really learn and understand the concepts involved to do it right IMHO.

I apologize if I upset you and yes he did call your information crap and yes this is tech. I was just suggesting that responding to a negative with another negative was a bad idea and that I have been guilty of it myself. Again, I apologize if I offended you.

Anyway, do you agree with my assessment that it is going to cost a lot of money to do the turbo right and that he should study the subject and understand it thoroughly himself in addition to just relying on opinions from the internet, informed as they may be?

On a side not it is almost Labor Day weekend WOOT! :banana:
 
When someone posts crap advice, Im going to say something. The starter of the thread has a stock engine and was asking to mod his stock engine with a turbo setup. You are not going to slap on a T88 single turbo setup onto a stock engine.

The power levels a SOHC modular engine can handle, won’t even be close to the efficiency range of that turbo, it would be better to put on one that is close to a 60 trim on a single setup or to the correct route with twins and put on some t3/t4 hybrid turbos.
