turbo coupe rear disc on a mustang rear

Hi- Has anyone tried to mount turbo coupe rear disc brakes (caliper bracket, etc) onto a mustang 8.8 rear? my problem is i have an 8.8 in my car that i had powder coated so i cant change the whole rear but want disc brakes in the rear, and dont want to spend the 800 for a conversion kit. I can get a turbo coupe rear for 200 that has the disc brakes, i want to swap the disc brake components onto my mustang 8.8 rear. Has anyone tried this? will it fit?

Yes, they'll slide right in. You'll have too use the axles also, but everything will bolt right on without any mods.

The housing is actually the same as the mustang one with the exception of where the quad shock holes are. You can use the TC axles and brakes on the stang housing but then it will be 3/4" wider on either side. Other options are to keep the stock length axles and get the offset brackets that work with the TC calipers and rotors ( I think its like North Race Cars or something like that that markets them now) , or modify the TC brackets to mount 3/4" further back on the housing. I have done it but the offset brackets are probably your best bet if its in the budget.

Stock length rear axles with brackets, this is your best bet so you dont have wheels fitment problems. Those T-Birds also came with 3.55 or 3.73 gears, so take them out also.

What bracket is that?? Is it aftermarket?? Or did you modify the stock one??
