Any suggestions where to start? I have a 2003 GT, magnaflow exhaust system, steeda pulleys, tuner and 3.73 gears.

First place to start: Save up money unless you're planning on doing it yourself...if that is the case plan on not driving your car for several months.

Are you planning single turbo or twins? Power level you want?

I'd like to do twins, but may be too costly. I'm a little over 300 rwhp now, like to get high 300's maybe??

Ehhh.....you're not at 300HP if those mods you listed are all you have. 300 Flywheel maybe, but not at the wheels. If you want to get to high 300's a supercharger would be a more cost effective and hassle free method of doing it vs a turbo setup. These cars are a PITA to do turbo's on and most shops will make you cry when you see the bill on top of the parts, and a DIY setup takes lots of time and fabbing. Search around and you'll see several forum members who have done DIY setups and what it consisted of.

A twin setup will cost you lots of cash (probably 10 grand) and take a long time to fabricate. If your at 300WHP now, expect at least 100 more with a blower, and 150 with the turbos.

Easy guys.... correction..... I'm 260 rwhp, 297 lb ft. torque. I mistakenly quoted my torque. Dustbuster is right, I'm probably about 300 at the flywheel. Any suggestions on most cost effective superchargers?

you guessing here? 297 is still high torque for those mods. Anyways, a vortech SQ kit or the like is what you're looking for as far as price. try modularpowerhouse.com for the whole kit

not guessing, have the dyno sheet. I also mentioned 3.73 gears which may help support the torque, but that's what the sheet shows nonetheless. I'll look at the vortech, thanks.

Don't wanna start this sort of debate in tech, but gears don't help dyno #'s
didn't say 297 was impossible, just good w/ ur mods

Don't know enough to debate you, so I guess that's a good thing! Did 3 pulls, torque was 297.3, 292.7 and 295.6. Not sure how much benefit I got from the tuner but I'm guessing 20 - 25.

Here is your biggest lesson for a GT engine or actually just all 2v 4.6L engines from ford. They don't respond to mods...period. People running full length headers, O/R midpipes, catback, Stage 1 cams, tune, and intake mods are barely at 300 RWHP I believe. I don't know if Tomustang still has his pre-turbo #'s in his sig but the lesson is these cars don't respond to much of anything besides a blower/turbo/nitrous.

Are my #'s of 260 rwhp and 297 torque about what I should expect from my mods? Also, what would you estimate my 1/4 should be, best case scenario? I plan on taking it out to test and tune and wonder what I should expect.

Thanks for the input.

That I'm not that sure of. It all depends on your driving abilities and whatnot. Plus I drive an automatic and have never been to the track/had mine dyno'd so I couldn't tell you that. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you better info than me.

Thanks. It seems like I've seen somewhere there's a formula that you can estimate based on your dyno #'s, not sure how accurate it is though. Like you said, mostly depends on the driver (hitting 3rd gear is dicey sometimes when I'm jamming it!). I'd also like to get some input on best launch techinques (like what rpms to launch at and how to best work the clutch at launch). Thanks again for the input.

when he says 297 tq he is probably speaking uncorrected wise. With my mods listed below i ran 267hp/316tq uncorrected (dyno graphs to prove it) but SAE corrected was 245hp/290hp...and if you want to get to high 300's, S/C would be the most cost efficient by far!
