in a nutshell

superchargers are cheaper, easier to hookup, provide good gains, but take some power to make power. at part throttle, its more like a parasite to the engine. once you cob down on it, it spins faster and provides extra air. but on the plus side it makes the engine more efficient, instead of the engine having to work to get the air it is being fed the air, even at low rpm and cruising its helping out some. this will result in more efficiency and less throttle to get things moving.

turbos usually cost more (if u have good fab skills you and make your own fairly cheap) they are much harder to install, many more parts. tuning is a little more complicated. they provide good gains at WOT, do not act as a parasite on the engine, and during normal driving the car is running all on it owns and the turbo does very little until you put it under a load and it spins and provides extra air

Superchargers are abundant on Mustangs, and almost overdone...a turbo is still somewhat "rare" and free horsepower when you think it runs off the exhaust. With the cars you have listed in your sig. I'd say go turbo. I think there is nothing better than a lightwight fox with a hairdryer lol.

Well here's the thing, superchargers are just so dam easy. Everyone and their mother has a blower on their mustang but most of them are the cheap t trims or cheap V1 s-trims. So they are not very capable blowers...they come pushing only 5-6 psi and i guess you could pulley them up to 8-10i dont really know. But in order to get a nice blower with some type of air cooler, which i feel is a must if you want to make big power, then you either need to get a novi 2000 with IC, procharger D1SC with IC, or a V2 S-trim with aftercooler. Those blowers all run over 3200 bucks. For around that price you could get a stage 1 turbo setup from B&G with more power potential than those blowers. I love turbo's and actually blowers are harder to tune than turbo's. The last question is what sound do you like more, turbo spooling or a straight cut blower whining at idle?!!?! tuff call

Don't forget that with the turbo setup there is no need to buy a set of headers either (extra savings).

My vote would be a turbo but a supercharger is much easier to install and tune. It is "on" all the time which is a pro and con at the same time. More power on tap but more wear and tear. For every 100hp a supercharger makes it takes roughly 30hp from the motor. For every 100hp a turbo makes it takes roughly 5hp from the motor. Did I mention the ease of install for a supercharger... hehe. Turbo has A LOT of piping. Turbos make a lot of heat too. Turbos are expensive compared to superchargers and a lot of post install tuning is involved. A supercharger you can typically nurse the car to the tuner but with a turbo I would suggest getting it towed there. Your turbo doesn't have to run all the time. If you ever driven a turbo car, you can keep it out of the boost range while driving normally. Modern turbos really don't have the turbo lag that people use to talk about too. Another thing is a V8 will produce plenty of exhaust gasses to spool it up when compared to your 1.8 liter integra.

I always enjoyed installing BOTH of them at the same time because it makes MUCH more power than JUST installing ONE of them.

I believe the equation goes something like this......if a turbo's power equals 3, and a supercharger's power output equals 2, then applying BOTH of them on the SAME engine will net 3x2 equaling 6. Then you can take that number and add another 3 for the engine being a V8 giving you a power output of 9. From this point we DIVIDE the number by 2 coming out with a power output of 4.5.

Of course we're not done there because you have to add in the fact that you have no AC belt running and the windshield wiper fluid is FULL so we add another 7 to our total power output, giving us a final number of 11.5.

So there you have it, as you can plainly see, installing BOTH a turbocharger AND supercharger to the SAME engine is OBVIOUSLY the way to go.
