Please don't post this crap.

I know you are a newbie, but use some cognative dissonance. No one here believes a product exists that will net you 1 hp/dollar.

OMG!!!!! this is actually a testimonial on the website!

"In a completely stock 99' Dodge Neon sport, I gained ten horses and went from 34-37 wheel horsepower to 44-47 wheel horsepower (using a G-Tech Pro performance meter). I have also noted (when I drive responsibly) a gain in gas mileage. I also lost a full second off my Quarter-mile times; from 16.8 to 15.8 and probably could have done better with more time with the G-Tech."

I don't think it was a joke. A guy that registered last month with a 2-3 year old car probably only recently bought the car. As in, bought it last month. Fits the newbie question profile to a Tee.

If it is a joke, its worse IMHO. Tornado Opinion threads on Mustang forums are like potholes. You know you'll see them once in a while, but you don't want them to get any bigger than they are.

That wasn't even close to harsh. Hell, it was almost a wet, sloppy kiss compared to what I really wanted to write.

[rant][thread hijack]

In case people haven't noticed, there is a life cycle to most web forums just like there is a life cycle to consumer products. In most cases, someone starts an automotive website for a select market segment (i.e, late-model Mustangs). In some cases the site never really catches on, and it quickly dies away (Beta videocassette tapes would be a good consumer product example). In other cases, the tech info that gets shared is SO GOOD that the site can't help but grow. Word-of-mouth gets around and new members are attracted by the wealth of knowledgeable people. (CDs, cellular phones are good product examples.) Eventually, however, market saturation is reached. The site receives a steady stream of newbies, and the newbies hash the same old topics over and over again. 3.73s vs. 4.10s. Does the tornado work? Can someone show me where the air silencer is? FAQs are useless because no one reads them. The 'Search' button gets cobwebs. And finally the 'old' members who made the site worth going to in the first place leave, and only the newbies remain. The old guys leave and start over.

When is the last time I saw Mustang92 post something on here? What about Tommy303? San~man? jimfitzgerald? TJM01? white99gt? Kurgan? These guys have some knowledge, but its an endless barrage of threads that provide no new opportunity for learning that keep them looking elsewhere.

[/rant][/hijack]

If this offends you, just ignore the angry rantings of a man who can't stop the tide from going out.

Don't listen to all the haters above. I picked up about 10-15 Horsepower by using one of these on my Mustang. I'm a firm believer in the product.

I have one on order for the Viper, I'm really hoping for 45HP or more gains.

BUY IT.

So eventually a forum has every question asked and answered and every does a search. Then no one converses any more because everyone is complaining that no one does a search. What is there to talk about now? Should I get that J9D8 GE jet turbine off that stock 737 and do an engine swap? Should I remove the rear tires from a junked 18-wheeler and put them on my car? The reason why these guys have left is not because of the same questions being rehashed it is because of the immaturity and name-calling that goes on here.

To offer an opinion on the said item...I have never used one and don't believe it offers any benefit. But until you try it you never know.

i know where you are coming from aaron, but regardless they (newbs) still need help. does it get old sometimes - yeah, but that's why we are here. i don't know it all & if i need some serious help i know where to find the "old guys", but i do the best i can with what i know. if you used the search button all the time, all you would need is a select few threads about basic stuff & the board would go straight downhill, because there wouldn't be that much activity

What a crock. I won't devote a lot of time trashing this statement, because I shouldn't really have to.

The Mustang will continue to develop and new options will continue to emerge. Hell, there are aftermarket companies still devoting significant R&D money on intake manifolds for 302 Fords. One would think that after a couple decades of research that an optimal product would have been made, but here we are- almost a decade since the engine came in a factory Mustang- and new ones are still rolling out the door.

Look at the immediate future of the platform. Hopefully we are going to see an explosion of development of 3V swap kits for the 4.6L. The BigBore blocks are just beginning to hit their stride. After years of camshaft pricing that was in the stratosphere the market is beginning to become viable to shadetree mechanics as well as hardcore racers. The new cars are going to be a completely new can of worms in the suspension department.

That's just the stuff that can be foreseen from what we know today. There are developments that will likely take place that no one can predict right now. I see no reason to expect that this forum will run out of things to say, and I don't see why its unreasonable for someone who wants to know the effects of Steeda pulleys on their 96 GT to simply read on of the 343,53,234 threads already devoted to the subject.

I didn't really mean that there will never be new questions. I just don't understand why everyone gets so hot and bothered by a repeated question. You don't have to read it and you don't have to answer. I even learned that I should go with the Pratt and Whitney JT9 since GE doesn't make that model. Now do I have tell the next person to do a search next time they are looking for a tubine engine upgrade for their 78 Mustang II?
