Okay, so we wanna do a junkyard turbo build on our 2008 Mustang GT. I was wondering, what all do I need to get to efficiently have the turbo on the car?

If you are a pretty handy fabricator. I'm sure you could build your own kit and source the parts/Turbo cheaper than buying a kit,but.. buying a kit can take out a lot of the guess work and parts hunting

Why must it be a turbo?

What's the overall end result? Is this a street car?

If you want to boost the car then supercharge vs turbo. Turbo is going to kick in mid-range to upper (it has to build boost). That's NOT what the 4.6L 3V needs. Supercharger gives the low end power all the way through the curve....and THAT sir is what will give you the chill and thrill. Plus a helluva lot easier to install.

I too am thinking about putting a turbo on a 4.6 3v engine. It may not make power immediately but the lonjevity of the engine should be better, and the cost differential is very significant.
