Does anyone know if I can get my Diablo chip burned to have it automatically turn off the posi when I start the car? It runs so much better when it's off!

I don't know about that but DallasMustang.com has a product that does it.

Are you sure you even have posi-rear? As opposed to Limitted Slip Differentials...

By either name, the differential can't be simply turned off.

However, the Traction Control can be turned off. You can do it with a special module like that from Pony Express. This module allows TC to be enabled when you start the car in order to allow the ABS/TC system to pass testing. Then, it automatically turns the TC 'off' after the testing is done.

"The Blower man the Blower!"

Or like the musclecar in the Mr. Clean carwash ad...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing re the trac-lok differential...you wouldn't want to turn that off.

To disable the standard limited slip diff - you can't.
If you have deep pockets, www.traction.eaton.com , and check out their ELocker, an electronically controlled, high perf, locking diff. (You would want to turn this off for normal street driving, to allow free wheeling of the rear tires so you could negotiate tight turns without the tires 'scrubbing' like a dump truck.)
But, I think what you really want is http://www.ponyexpressperformance.com/tractioncontrol.html , 52.95, including shipping.
The Diablo Predator, $419, (hand held tuner) is the product that can disable the Traction Control via tuning.
Personally, I do like the Traction Control when it's raining, but hate it otherwise. Hate it because I often forget to turn it off. The $52.95 option fits the bill, and is a heck of a lot cheaper, if this is all you need. Also, I'm sure there are other companies out there making a similiar product. I found this one simply by googling for "mustang traction control disable". Best of Luck!

The new Diablo chips under the "Chipmaster Revolution" brand can be set to permanently disable the Traction Control. Mine is turned off completely in this manner. I can't turn it on at all anymore.

Actually, I believe I read something about Mercedes putting an electromagnetic clutch on a supercharger's pulley so it wouldn't have to push the blower while crusing.

Then again, it's Mercedes and they have the patent for just about everything.
