Any suggestions what to look for? The turn signal flasher clicks slowly while the car is off and the key is out of the ignition. The lights on the dash are not flashing. If you put the turn signal lever on left or right turn it lights up and stays lit and the turn signal flasher quits clicking (this is with the key out). Same thing if you push in the hazard switch.

I am selling the car and was getting it ready for someone to look at tomorrow.
Thanks for any advice. 67 Mustang coupe..

Is the hazard switch mounted to the steering column and possibly connected to the turn signal switch assembly?

If so it certainly sounds like you have a bad turn signal switch. Why I say this is that the hazard switch area has power all the time and uses the turn signal switch area to distribute the power. If something breaks inside the 2 areas of the switch, it could create the havic that you mention.

I pulled the steering column towards the steering wheel and that is when the problem occurred. I pushed it back towards the engine compartment and it is now fixed. Sold the car today.. Had it for 20 years and it was time to let someone else have it..
