I am in the process of replacing the stock panel on my 1969 Mach 1 with something from Year One. The new Autometer gauges I am using do not have turn signal indicators incorporated into them like the stock gauges do so I need to add something on my own. I figure I will just sink some LED lights into the panel and use these as turn signals. However, the LED lights range from 1 to 12 volts and I am not sure exactly what volt LEDs I need.

So the question is this;

How many volts are the stock interior turn signals on a 1969 Mach 1?

As a minimum use a 470 ohm resistor in series with an LED. To dim it to your liking, you can increase it to 5 or 10K. Get a few various resistors and try 'em out. Remember there is a polarity to LEDs also.

Is the resistor a safety issue? Will the light blow if I don't have the right resistor on the LED? I don't really care about how bright or what not, I just want to know if I my turn signals are on. I hate those guys who drive with the signals on for miles as if they are making a giant left hand turn around the world. I would hate to be one too.
