I got this problem. I was driving the other day and I noticed that all of a sudden my blinkers had stop working. Not even the blinker indicators in the dash work when I use my turn signals. My hazards work though but now only the inner lights blink not the corner lamps. I checked my fuses and everything looked fine. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem.

Change the flasher. It costs about $2 at your local auto store.

Either the flasher or... if your reverse lights and/or blower motor have quit woking also, it could be the ignition switch. The switch is also pretty cheap and easy to install, but might as well start with the simplest first (flasher). It's in the dash behind the radio.
The front outer lights don't blink at all. They are only single filiment bulbs that are either on or off. Only the inner ones flash.
Hope this helps!

i just picked up an electronic flasher, im planning on replacing my bulbs with leds, before i would pull the turn signal lever then wait a second then it would start blinking real slow, no with the new flasher, i get immediate and quick signal flashing...

Aaron, in my 90' it was behind the radio laying loose on the carpet, but I think it was originally clipped somewhere up in there. It looks exactly like the hazard one in the fusebox. I think actually is the same one as the hazard one. The Chilton's manual doesn't really give a clear picture of exactly where it is. You can probably find it either through the sides of the radio housing, through the inside of the glove box, or if worse comes to worse... slide the radio/stereo out and get to it through there.

89LXstang, if yours is getting really slow, it is probably on it's way out and changing it would probably speed it back up.

Hope this helps!

did you check the fuse? After i swapped my tranny, the switch from the reverse lights would short out and blow the fuse

haha funny you mentioned that. I just put in a new trans yesterday, and that's when the problem started. I checked the fuse for the turn signals but it is still fine.

WTF?!

I've got the same problem as well. No turn signals, but the hazards and everything else works. Already tried the flasher in the fuse box, but no luck either.

My turn signals now work. I had to mess with some loose wires on a harness in the steering column.
