Hey guys I am working on a friends 93 mustang and I wanted to ask you about the problem she is having. The turn signals are not coming on when you flip the switch either way. I pulled off the switch to test it with my multi meter and yeah, I have no clue what pin does what on it. I have looked for a wiring diagram on the web but haven't found one. Have any of you had this problem before? All the other switches on the turn signal, high beams wipers etc work, but not the turn signal lights themselves. I also checked to see if the hazards worked and they do. Any help would be apreciated.

:bang: Did you check the simple things first, like the fuses and the flasher unit?

Of course, I was hoping for the easy fix but all of those things look like they work. I will ask one question though. is there a seporate flasher for the turn signal and the hazards? Or just one flasher that does both? Anyway I actually took the switch out and used my multi meter on it. Of course a wiring diagram was not to be found on the net so I did my best guess at it. :D

From what I could tell the switch simply was not working so I took the switch itself apart. Gee they have alot of crap on the turn signal switch. Anyway I got the switch apart and iside there are these little metal pieces that ride on a metel plate that are supose to make the switches conections.

Really it is not much different from the way it works on my 73 which I had a similar problem with. Well I tried bending the plates and metal pieces to ensure that they would make contact. Hey it worked on my car but not on the 93. :bang:

So once again I ask you guys for a little help. Is there any way this problem could be caused by something else? Would it be possible to get a switch from another ford vehicale at the JY (Junk Yard) to swap in there and get this thing working again?

There's a seperate relay for the flashers and the blinkers. The flasher relay should be located on the back-side of your fuse panel. The blinker relay is behind the dash more toward the steering column. It's a blue cyclinder looking thing. HTH.

I'll try changing it out but I am pretty sure that it is the switch because of the tests I did with the Multi Meter.

Thanks for the reply! :nice:
