I have recently been getting angry at my driver side tweeter in my car. It has started cutting out, crackling and sounding all f'ed up. I am pretty sure that it is just that tweeter and only that speaker that is experiencing problems.

I want to replace it, but I do not know the diameter of tweeter that will fit in the opening, or be an easy swap and reinstall job.

Do you guys have any budget minded tweeters in mind that would be easy to install and replace the factory ones in the Mach 460 Convertible I have?

Those tweeters are tough to replace...from what I have seen...the way they bracket in...you may have to modify aftermarket ones..

I would just buy another set of factory ones...you can crank them pretty good...

Well, last Thurs. I threw in a cheap set of Pioneers, as recommended by Crutchfield, but on the drive home from work that afternoon, I start experiencing the same problems to the new ones.

I dont recall this problem happening much with the previous deck I had in, but I started to notice this problem after my GF's dad and I installed a JVC iPod Deck. The speaker cuts in and out, and crackles and that kind of sort.

Is this a wiring issue in the door, or do I have to trace it back to the harness with the HU?

I used the stock bolts to install the new speakers with making little triangular brackets and putting them like a washer to hold the speakers in place behind the Mach covers.

I am tempted to take it to an audio shop to have them take a looksie.
