Twin Turbo Build Progress -pics-

I'm not really surprised at how fast Green is doing this project. Once you collect all your parts you just go out there and do it.. Plus there is no header removal or cutting into fender wells and stuff.

But if you guys are like me, you go one day I'm going to start this project. i can't tell you how many times I have walked out to my car and raised the hood, looked at it. though about removing the headers, closed the hood and walked back in the house.... :spot: LOL I had to add a bolt to my headers once and had to call my wife out to hold the socket, so i know they are a PITA.

But once all my parts are collected and I get off my lazy ass and do it. My project should go just as fast.

Don't get me wrong. Green you are the man for originality alone :hail2: and  to you. Once i get mine done I'm taking a trip up your way so we can go import hunting and shot some vids...

How are you routing the piping back to the engine compartment to the intake??
Ok, those blue tubes i posted, that tube runs from the intercooler over the driver's fender and under, where i will be making a T from the twins into it. Right now im waiting for some J-bends for that section, there comming next week sometime, so there wont be a huge ton of progress for a while, just ods and ends, im gonna get it ready so all i have to do pipe that in and its ready.

As far as how fast it is, i really havent been working on it ALL that much, i work a 40 hour week. i mean with not having to F with the engine bay wiring, piping, and headers its pretty damn easy....i just sorta inturrupted the exhaust where it normally goes lol. Also if i wasent waiting on random parts it would have been done allready!

anyhow, a little issue ....it seems my tilton diff oil pump is too fast....it pumps but cycles....like load/no load in about 2 sec increments.....and its really loud....its louder than the car at idle by alot. Now, can anyone tell me how to properly slow down a dc motor...it draws ~5 amps,.....I know you must reduce voltage, however ill be damned if i cant think of an easy way to do it....i tried a 120v ac fan dimmer switch but it does nothing, the motor wouldent turn...i went to radio shack and got a rehostat and the pump draws too much and smoaked it! Any help would be great.

Eaither that, or i will have to re-locate it to where my rear seat was and put some sound insulation in there...any ideas?

Well this is a high current potentiometer. It can handle up to 10 amps continuous. And is variable. 50 V max. This should do the trick, have no idea on prices or availability. I would search for something like this though.

whell, i just ended up mounting it in my rear seat area in a sound-damped metal box that i made...with the seat delete over that, it will be very quiet

Also i started my next project on it, i will be making a rear seat delete, and where your back would normally be, on the verticle board i am going to mount 2- 12" subs with an amp in the trunk. I got a system at best buy, some MDF board at home depot, all i have left to get is some black carpet...ill post pics on how this comes out!

Geez dude! Did you knock over Ft. Knox to afford all this stuff?

Wow...You are the official "fabmaster" of SN...amazing what a welder and some piping can do... :nice:
Make sure you let me know when you head to NED.....I wanna see and hear this Betty in action...

thanks again....the piping may get in the way of the liner, but i have a razor knife :)

As far as the seat delete, you will see what im gonna do, its sorta custom, i will be making a speaker box into the back part of the delete....it will look flush from the interior, but the sub box will extend into the trunk. I am also making the bottom part removeable to access my oil pump, and to change the air filters, etc.

Ill try and post some pics of my progress tommorow, as i will be starting on the custom seat delete.
