Guys I have been toying around with putting a blower on my 331 build. I am unsure at this point what I want to do. I am now thinking of putting AFR's or Trick Flow heads on my car to stay N/A with a higher CR. Which is better? What combo will result in more hp?

331, twisted wedge heads, Cobra intake, 24lb injectors, ecam,
or same everything but emission legal AFR 185s?

I am looking to break the 300 rwhp mark N/A. Help me Choose!! Is there aything else I need/better parts to be sure I get over 300 rwhp? Thanks to all.

I have the 185 t/w cnc and i love them. My numbers without a cam and in need of a good tune are in my sig.

Id have to go with AFR...I run them but mine are 205's and have great power with lots of room to upgrade.
To answer your question the blower will make more power, either way you go with the heads is still a good choice.:SNSign:

Wouldn't 205 intake runners be too much? I thought 185 was cutting it close? I am not sure I am willing spend the $$ on heads that are 1600-1700 bucks like the TFS CNC heads.

I was thinking about a blower but I need a bigger combustion chamber to get down to a blower friendly CR. I was going to stay with my GT40 heads, give a little work to them and then bolt on a v-2 sq. Down the road I think that a blower will cost me more and also give me more power but a h/c/i car with 300 rwhp is a good choice I think. I don't want to break the bank but I do want something faster than a stock cobra.

You are running a 331 right, so IMO no 205 are great and even better w/ forced induction. Im running N/A as of right now with a weak tune and putting 345rwhp/355tq , but i do plan on turbo charging it so thats why i went with the 205's.

Those are some good numbers. I didn't want to have to change my intake. Will my stock Cobra intake be ok for the 205's? What are the specs on your cam? I would like to pass the sniffer

331 stroker, probe srs flat top pistons, e-cam, stock 24lb injectors, 65mm throttle body, 70mm mass air, stock cobra intake.

If I have to get a new intake in order to get my 300rwhp goal its not the end of the world. I wanted to keep the engine bay look as close to stock as possible.

what compression you want to go with, that will also factor in, looks like you will be right around there.185 will def get you 300rwhp but in the end if you go to a blower the 205 will be a whole different world. just my 0.2. If you want i can email you all my specs

I was going to get a compression ratio of somewhere in between 9-9.5:1 if I kept my GT40 heads that have 65.5 chambers. I was also going to get roush 200 with 64cc. with either of those heads I was going to put a sq on it with about 8 lbs boost. Now I am thinking about just going N/A due to money reason and going with a 61cc head like AFR or TFS and getting a CR of about 10:1. such decisions.

Do yourself a favor and get the Trick Flow heads with matching intake. That Cobra intake has got to be a bottleneck for your 331.

With 61cc won't my CR be too high?

soo... best bet on a 331 buildup w/ a forced induction setup (twin turbo in my case, in the future of course) is the AFR 205s correct? How would the 205s make it run before boost?

I think I am leaning toward the TW heads because they are a bit cheaper and will be a good choice esp. with their matching intake.

What size bolt/stud do the 185 and TW heads require? I don't have to drill and tap a 1/2in hole right. Thanks
