Here is the situation, you find out your Mustang was stolen with the first year and it was recovered shortly after the theft. Only minor damage upon recovery. Keep in mind, You have put serveral hours and money into it. Would you sell, or continue as planned with mods?
...lol thats the story behind my builder/friends storker big block fox ....it has like 30 some miles on it... got jacked off the car trailer when it was being deliever to the dealership found it stripped...some guy bought it kept it for like 8 years beside his garage...the ups guy deliered a package and backed into it ...and the guy was sick of seeing it so my friend got it and now sports a bb stroker with like 40 miles or something lol

Im guessing you ran a Carfax and found that out.
It didnt bother you before you knew so why would it bother you now? As long as the car runs good and the body looks good why would a previous theft recovery matter?
On 87- 91 cars the fuel pump relay is under the seat, 92 and later cars ,the fuel pump relay is under the Mass air duct on the passenger fender well. Cut the red/black wire going to the fuel pump relay. Splice a 16 or 18 gauge wire into the wire and connect it to one side of the switch. Connect the other side of the switch to the other end of the red/black wire going to the fuel pump relay. When you are done the switch should be in the middle of the spliced red/black wire that goes to and comes from the fuel pump relay. Using the inertia switch side of the circuit allows you to use light gauge wire and light duty switches. There is less than 1 amp going through the circuit, so you don’t have to worry about voltage drop across the wiring depriving the fuel pump of electrical power.
You will probably want to take out the seat, but when you do it'll be sitting right there. Little black box on an L bracket. I couldn't say before or after, Mine goes directly to the pump itself. I would say before the relay though, to be safe. No reason to have it working any more than it has to. On a side note, always make sure you turn it on before you turn the car on. Do it before you even put in the key if it'll help you remember. I forgot a few times and it messed up my computers ignition sequence and I had to clear the memory and re teach it how to start. You don't want to lose your injector priming before ignition.
Blakthorn thanks for that nice little write up ' i will be attempting this come spring when it warms up' how long did it take you to wire in all this and if i did by chance turn the key before i turned on the switch how does a person reset his computer.
Why wouldn't you keep it? If you got it back after it was stolen it only means it was meant to be yours. Our car was stolen in '98 and found 8 yrs 1 month later ....June '06. She is an '84 5.0 5 spd. she had a few more kms on her but she came back in one piece ( mint when stolen and still in A1 shape when found)... pic attached... proof she was meant to be ours. Why sell it .. keep it and torture the as*hole that had her b/c you know she is rightfully yours! But yes put some form of alarm/kill switch on her.
