Two clutch cables went bad on me. What's going on here?

Where could a get one of those Thermo-tech ignition wire sleaves at? I'm fixing to put a new clutch cable in my car, and don't want to deal with melting problems and such.

if you're worried about melting, get the longer sn95 cable from mm, it'll work and allows you to route around and away from your headers.

Does the SN95 cable effect shifting any since it's longer? I can't see why it would since you could adjust it, i'm just curious. Recently, my trany is getting a bit harder to get into gear than it used to, and it's not leaking fluid or anything and i don't think i've beat it enough to hurt the synchros or anything, so i'm thinking of replacing the cable to start narrowing down what it could be, after changing the fluid that is.

I highly recommend going to www.andersonfordmotorsport.com and purchasing their extended lakewood clutch fork made my Pro Motion transmission. I had a similar problem, ended up destroying a cable, then my clutch fork would stay on the pivot ball of the bellhousing. Its not long enought to sit properly on the ball and swing back and forth, check it out, youll be glad u did.

anyone have a pic or can tell me where the cable is suposed to mount cause the last cable got burned on the header (bbk shorty) cause i didnt know and thought if i tossed it in i could find out where exactly to mount it at a later time so i got stuck took it off in a parking lot and went to autozone and said it was faulty they gave me a new one and i put it in and wire tied it to two spots so it didnt hit the header again untill i can figure out where its suposed to go... thanks

I went with the Ford OEM universal cable from Maximum Motorsports. They say it gives the best clearance for headers including long tubes.

Just in case anyone's doing a search. The result was: Clutch cable. I ended up replacing the crap autozone cables with an OEM SN95 cable. I routed it away from my exhaust making the bend back to the bell-housing as gradual as possible. I replaced the quadrant with a UPR triple hook, and I installed the firewall adjuster with it. When I got back in to drive the car, the clutch was lighter than the honda accord's hydraulic. Suddenly the car was a pleasure to drive again.

goo to know. My cable is on borrowed time. I will definitely get a sn95 from MM when it comes time to replace it.

Yeah, only thing you need to do with them is cut the plastic deal on the firewall side of the SN95 cable to make it work with the fox firewall. No big deal.
