typhoon intake install help...back plug???

just got my lower intake on..bolted down...then relized that the round hole directly in the back of the intake requires the meshed plug from the og intake...no big deal accept the og intake has a lip built in to stop the plug from dipping in to the intake valley....the typhoon does not...the plug just falls in the intake valley....am I doing something wrong here??? please tell me that i wont be pulling the intake again..(gaskets + sealer = pain in my wallet and ass!!!) thanks

Usually the intake comes with a baffle on the bottom side of the lower. Sometimes they come with the baffle and some pins to hold it on with, that you have to tap on with a hammer.

The plug you speak of is the pcv screen??..if it is that one with the rubber gromet just above it then yes you must omit the screen or have something put in there to keep the screen from falling in. You need the pcv but if you have the lower baffle you don't need the screen.

I have the same intake, the screen doesn't fall all of the way in, so i think it's ok, and your gonna need sealer to put the rubber piece in the hole also. hope this helps, im kinda unsure if its a good idea to leave it like that, but Don't really have a choice.

are you saying that you are running it like this currently....are you just using sealant to keep it in place??

i have the typhoon intake on my car and my screen fits in there fine.

I don't have a Typhoon so I may be way out of line here, but why couldn't take the old (or new) screen and take a pair of pliers and tweak the flimsy metal shell that holds the screen into place , making the metal shell larger that way the screen or shell wouldn’t fall through the hole into the lower manifold and I think that’s what your worried about RIGHT?

I have seen intakes that you actually have to screw a baffle onto the bottom of the intake where the PCV valve screen goes so it doesn't fall in. If not there is just a big hole in the intake right into the lifter valley. It usually comes in a seperate bag with the screws.
Is this what you are talking about or is the baffle in place?
