Typical Fuel Pump Problems?

My fuel pump is not pumping... as far as I can tell... You know when you turn the key and the fuel pump primes the system. The pump does not whine for five or ten secconds like it used to. So what is the most common problem? Where is the fuel pump relay. I already checked the switch in the trunk it is fine...

relay should be under your drivers seat.

if the pump sounded weaker/different any before it stopped, then it most likely is just the fuel pump. did you run the codes?

Hehe, about 10 years ago, I learned about this switch. My fuel pump wasnt coming on in my 89' stang, and I did a little diagnostics, and determined it was junk. Dropped the tank in my parking spot at my aparments (fun) and replaced the fuel pump. Put it all back together and same result. I called my stepdad, who came over to look at it, he popped the trunk, pulled off the plastic and reset the switch. Fired right up of course. What a graceful guy to not laugh at me about it. I was laughing at myself though.
