U-joint life expectancy?

How long do U-joints last anyways? I think mine is going bad, it makes a clank sound from 2-3 (aode). I have a 2001 GT with 53k miles. Maybe it's not the U-joint. I need to get under and check it out for sure.

It depends on how hard you are on them. I think your problem though is in the tranny.

If it is the u-joints though, Don't replace them, get youeself an aluminum D/S insted. FRPP doesn't make them for AOD's, but you can swap the yoke from your's to then new one. It's part# M-4602J
