Ugh, engine threw codes.

Got the blower on and threw some strange codes the last few days. Got supercharger on and tuned, and blew a plug on the way home. Shop helicoiled it and now every once in a while motor throws the CEL or a code is pulled, and then yesterday it got weird. Keep in my plug and COP replaced were in #6.

I've had the car back since last Tuesday. Fine on the way home. Then going to work on Wednesday car shoots CEL. Pull codes with my Diablo and no faults found. Then on the way home it does the same exact thing. Car seems to sputter after a cold start, leaving a parking spot and first few times taking off in 1st until it starts warming up.

Then on Sunday coming home from work car I put my Diablo on and it has p1000, which I dont care about and a p0354, Coil D primary/secondary malfunction or something like that. I clear and and it is fine when it warms up.

Then yesterday car is fine going to work and halfway home then I hook it up to my Diablo, code says p0357. Says the same thing on my way to work this A.M. But car doesn't throw anything on my way home just now.

I've ordered a replacement boot and another COP, thinking a boot may be torn causing this strange short electrically. Also, there is a loud humming coming from driver tweeter in this instance on occasion. I'm going to check wiring in the tweeter tomorrow A.M. and hopefully my Coil along with a new boot arrive tomorrow evening. Also, the replacment coil I used was out of the 2001 Bullitt that my kit came off of. So, I may just need to reinspect the boot on that first.

Any suggestions??

I don't think this is a hard fault. It is temporary and does not immediately come back when cleared and a drive cycle completed. I have seen the CEL come on without any faults being pulled by the Diablo. Right after I got the car in 2006 or 2007 I had a p0352 code that was linked to a slightly torn COP boot. That is my leading culprit to me as the issue began after swapping the COP/plug. I will have my alternator checked for the hell of it, but I do not believe that it is the issue. I'll drive the car to work tomorrow and Thursday and have the alternator checked after work Thursday in the afternoon when I got some more free time.

No CEL or RFI for 2 days. 2 new boots/springs and one whole COP assembly arrive today. I replaced the number 6 COP with my new one and inspected all boots on driver side head. One boot is iffy and with a very light amount of tension, started cracking. So that one is replaced with one new NGK boot/spring into the OEM COP. If problem persists, I have one extra boot and two COP tops to use. I'm going to order two more replacement boots just to have.

Next thing for me to do on this is to have my installer check his wiring on my gauges. I believe they might be causing some RFI as well, in addition, I used to have a subwoofer setup and some wires might be dangling around too. He is good (and cool) enough to take the blame or tell me it was my shoddy wiring!

I just am crossing fingers to make sure that is the answer! Otherwise time to get the battery and alternator checked!
