usually if its a private owner you can just have them state that its a gift. I think you have to put down $1 for a gift. How would they ever be able to prove that your "friend" didn't give you the car. I've known a couple of people that have done this without any problems.

Mass was like that. Now they require a form to be filled out by the seller stating that it was a gift. I have to get them from city hall. Lady at the registry said that too many people were claiming gifts for every car they get. With the new method, you can only claim I believe 3 per year.

yea i miss that truck so badi was hard up for cash and needed one i could fit a car seat in so i sold it for 3000. those wheels had 300 miles on them and that just cost me a grand i was dissapointed
