uh oh... I broke something... need help

Coming out of a car wash, i spun out in 1st. Tried 1st again, no luck, then i went into 2nd, and heard a very loud, very deep bang, like a sledgehammer hitting solid metal. Well, i got going, and i can still go through all of the gears fine, but i have a bad vibration over 40mph. The whole car shakes. Please let me know everything i could have broke before i go looking, to make sure i find what i broke. I am guessing some kind of engine or tranny mount?

sounds like you busted 1st gear inside the tranny. time for a rebuild...

can it still be a problem inside the tranny, if i can get in it and shift through all 5 gears with no problem? I don't know much about them.

check the driveshaft it causes, if broke, the whole car to shake.

try quick stuff like wiggle the driveshaft to see if theres any play (u joints) if thats not it then atleast u have that off ur list b4 u drop your tranny. everyone's got good suggestions.

If you have a bunch of work on the engine and a stock driveshaft, driveshafts what i would check first. A buddy of mine had a blown 93 5.0 and he had that problem at around 40mph with a tweaked driveshaft...
