Ukraine

So sad in todays day and age that a Putin would do this?? But who's to say who all are behind this, even some Americans getting wealthy from it??
I watched an interesting article on why America never got a Super Tomcat f14, and the article stated that there was proof that Cheney had money interests in McDonnell Douglas and kiboshed Grumman from making it??
One of my thoughts was while 1/2 of the russian Army was on the border to take all of the bombers the allies have and bomb it to oblivion...
So much of the history I was taught in school has been shown to be false and misleading so who knows who is doing what to whom..
My favorite was "Where did the billions of buffalo go?">> Now we know that the American government did all they could to kill them off to help wipe out the plains indian... The buffalo were, clothing, housing, and food for them.......
Buchanan had an interesting take on America backing Putin in a corner with all of the newer Allied/nato countries on its border? ( Townhall)
I just want $1.95 gas again.....

Who the hell knows? It's all games played in places I'll never see. The Bidens supposedly have interests there. Trump was impeached for threatening to hold funds from Ukraine in exchange for dirt on the Bidens. It a political pawn on someone's board.

It is not true. At. All.
Don't believe anything from the Government or the MSM.
They have done nothing but lie for the last 5 plus years.
Putin still has a Twitter account.
Everything you see here is an illusion, designed to keep you from looking at what is really going on.
What that is, I don't really know. I suspect, but can not prove.
Most, if not all of this is speculation. Smoke and Mirrors.
I am going to sit back and watch it all unfold. And in the end, maybe, just maybe, the Biden regime's corruption will be fully exposed and some much needed cleansing can take place.

Edit: Oops. Olive beat me to the vid.

Keep in mind, the video is an analysis and not an defacto answer to the question as to why. To sum it up if you don't watch the vid (but i recommend you do) Eastern Europe has a wide plain that acts as a funnel towards the west. When the USSR was in it's prime, it could easily defend against western troops by creating various choke points. When the USSR broke up, those point disappeared as countries became more western aligned and Russia was pushed east. That made the area that Russia would need to defend against in terms of a land invasion MUCH wider. By getting Ukraine and Belarus, they get some semblance of the choke point back. Russia is VERY concerned about a land attack coming from the west toward Moscow and defending against it.

Also, Ukraine was found to have large deposits of natural gas, in the east, and off the shore of Crimea. Coincidentally if Russia annexes the eastern portion and Crimea, they control most of the deposits and get to profit from it. Ukraine also charges Russia a :poo:load in tariffs for pumping gas through the pipeline in the country. They were working on freeing themselves of this burden, but that pipeline was to finally close sometime end of 2024. For now, they pay a lot of $$$ to Ukraine.

Even shorter version. Taking over Ukraine gives Russia valueable resources, and a better defensive posture against a Western land invasion

My take on this is that the best Ukraine can hope for is to give up all hope of Nato membership and pledge to remain neutral with various promises to never host foreign troops. I doubt they will ever see the annexed lands back due to the $$ in those resources under the ground/sea.

As to why Russia is so paranoid. No idea. You'd think the idea of nuclear war if NATO ever crossed the border would be enough incentive to never try it. Makes me wonder if Russia's military is so underfunded/corrupt/inflated, that their nuclear deterrent isn't as great as we think it is. These things have a shelf life, and must be recycled and renewed, and I don't see a country with the GDP the size of Florida maintaining an arsenal that would rival the US. I wouldn't be surprised if the truth is deception as to the capability/size. However i'm not willing to call the bluff. Just stupid keyboard warrior stuff here so take this all with a grain of salt as I am not qualified to speak on the subject.

Everyone trying to put some sort of spin on this and it's so simple. Putin is a crazy tyrant and has gone off his rocker. Bottom line.
Same can be said about Ukraine. No stability at all. They are the most openly corrupt nation on earth and the USA has a vested interest in them. Corruption attracts other corruption. Thus the USA and Ukraine share a symbiotic relationship.

I found this to be an interesting video on some of the history of the conflict.

View: https://youtu.be/If61baWF4GE

Heres a problem I see with that video. It glosses over the fact that Russia shares a border with Finland that is longer than it's border with Ukraine. Finland is considered neutral and Ukraine, pointed out in the video, is also neutral. Arguably more alingned with Russia culturally. The west may have influence but it also has influence on Russia itself.

Kazakhstan to the south is an even larger border and they have strategic alliances with Western nations. If limiting land access by way of Ukraine was valid you would think they would consider Kazakhstan and even greater threat.

It's more likely that they are after Ukrainian natural resources but I still
I hold that Putin has lost his touch with reality. He's old Russia and his actions prove he just wants the old USSR back. He underestimated Ukrainians resolve to protect their country. He won't stop with Ukraine.

The video is just information. There is a lot going on, but to me it shed a light on what was going on. Putin has lost his mind if he thinks he can take on the world. Right or wrong it seems to me like that is where this is going.

On a different note I read an article today saying that we were still importing 500,000 barrels a day of Russian crude oil. To bad we don't have oil of our own.

The whole situation is weird, messed up, and convenient.

We have plenty of oil of our own. We export more than we import. Been that way for a few years now. Russian oil imports have all but stopped but before they were it accounted for only 7% of our total imports.
