cats as in catalytic's? hmm well if u get pulled over u could have to pay a big fine, if ur car came stock with cats u need them if it didnt ur fine, but if it did i would say get some on soon or make something that looks like them and tack them on to make it look like u have them

i doubt a cop would even look for them. but assuming the previous owner had the exhaust on before he got it inspected, it passed the state inspection.

depending on where you are its not anything to worry about. besides fi muscle cars around here all the old cars and trucks run off the headers to a midpipe that kicks it out to the side. my advice leave as is.

Cool thing about having a pro-chamber is it looks kind of like a cat, so if anyone ever pulls me over (no state inspection in florida) i'll just point to the prochamber and say that's the cat

That depends on the inspector......................i also live in va and one of my local shop's lifted my car up in the air and looked under it for inspection...... but if anyone asks i have cats 4 of em they are just leaning against the side of my shed...................and yes some cops do check if they want to be d!cks.............specially state troopers. i got pulled over for not haveing a tag on the front of my stang and lucky for me he didnt look (at that time i had the long tube headers off road h-pipe and flows on the car)

88 stang is right you do need cats to pass inspection and it does depend on who checks the car also.that's why even though i can inspect my own car and i could pass with an off-road pipe i still have cats to just avoid anymore trouble.
