I'm in the process of removing the undercoating on my front fenderwells. After a couple days of gasket scraper and screwdriver action I bought a new tool!!

This thing kicks butt!!
It has sped up the work by half the time. My undercoating was like breaking ice from your driveway. It works really good once you figure out how to use it. Side to side action seems to work the best. Variable speed is a must. If you have very thick and gooey undercoating I doubt it would help much. It is not only for undercoating but is a sander and much much more. I wish I would have bought one much sooner. My Mom got me a Rotozip a couple of years ago and I thought it was a great tool. This is way above it. Not a Black and Decker, this thing will last for years, high quality. Just thought I would pass along a good tip, Shu

thanks for the tip

but why u want to remove the undercoating? !!
what i know is that the undercoating saves the car from rust right?
i am here just to learn from u why u wanna remove the undrc coz i just paid like 270$ for doing the undercoating ( the black thing for rust ) right?lol so thats why i asked this q ... :)

Looks like great stuff I wish I could get it. I think I would have a big problem shipping it overseas, I'm in Germany. Thanks for the tip, maybe others in the states can use it. SHU

E66, I'm taking off the undercoating to expose hidden rust and problems. I will then probably use an epoxy primer and undercoat over that. Anybody else have a better procedure? I know POR 15 but again I'm in Germany and shipping paints is a problem. SHU

I wanted to make absolutly sure that there was no rust hiding underneath. It is hard to tell if all the undercoating there was original or applied over the top of hidden problems. I now know for sure that all is well.

I used aircraft paint stripper. 4.98 a can at any parts store. took about 3 hrs to do the drivers side. Messy and the stuff burns if it gets on your skin, but was not much work to do it, just spray and let sit for 15 mins or so then scrape.
