whipple (or is it wipple? bleh) makes or at least "made" a roots blower that fit under the hood of older 289/302 powered cars.

"Underhood" is the tough part. The only rig I can think of is the Kenne Bell / Whipple 'charger for the Ford 5.0 - but you'd have to convert to EFI (the air intake is on the side, not on top).

wipple with a side-draft carb maybe? would require some fabrication of adapter plates. most side-drafts tend to be 1 or 2 bbl so maybe a Y adapter feeding into back of wipple-charger

Iv got a hemi manual that has a picture of this guys carbed hemi with a 8-71 blower under the hood.He stuck the blower infront of the motor and connected it directly to his crank. Then ran individual tubes from the bottom of the blower to the intake.Looks pretty nifty.Ill try to post a pic of it.Wouldnt be feasible in a stang though. Not alot of room in the front.Youd have to remount the radiator somewhere?

Where can you purchase a 174 Powercharger for the 302? I dont care about under hood clearance, so other root blowers that work with carbs are an option. This is potentially for a 5.0 transplant into a 65 coup.

Well, real roots blower, www.blowerdriveservice.com

Holley makes them, but you can find older used ones that were made by B&M before Holley took it. Same thing, different name. B&M was also 144's and 174's.
