Unknown idiot light

A friend of mine has a 97 GT and posed a question for me to answer. He sais that when he turns the key on, a light comes on the dash that looks like a gas can with an X over it. It last for about 30 sex to 1 minute. He says it has gas in the tank.

Does anyone know what this light is and why it comes on?

coolant maybe.. does it come on when he turns the ignition to accessory or when he actually turns it on?

As far as I know it is when he turns the key on and starts it. He said it stays on for 30 -60 second.

It really sounds like the low coolant light.

I'm sorry I didn't post back what he found out. It was a bad sensor in the coolant reservoir.

my j<x>ap spec V6 mustang has a wierd light - when you turn the ignition on, and the lights check themselves, one is a red light with the word heat on it, any idea? it has never come on in use..
