I would feel better if he just replaced the stator. I'm told that remans use the old one. However to replace the stator you really need a press to do the job. The symptoms still indicate the stator as the most likely source of the problem.

I was able to change mine with some sockets, a hammer and a good sturdy vice.

If the PIP benches ok, they normally leave it be. An extra roll-pin hole is a sign that the PIP was replaced while being reman'd.

A bearing splitter and threaded puller can be used in lieu of a dedicated press.

I have the same problem. I have replaced the coil, distributer, stater, coolant air tempature sensor, module. Fuel injectors passed a injector test with scan tool. You can hear fuel pump and car idles within pressure range. New fuel filter. Pulled injectors and screens are clean. I was going to buy a fuel pump but according to past posts it my not solve problem. I'll try ccrm first only because of past fuel pressure test. If anybody knows anything than what I've tried.

Ok i don't want to be throwing my money away here on parts that are not going to solve the problem... now u guys say to replace the stator. then "icemetalstang" says he has done all those things and still has the same problem. so which is it? the dizzy or the stator? I swear if i replace both of those and i still have that problem im just gonna sell it and get myself a Cobra... preferrably a 94 or 95.

The stator is in the dizzy. It's often easier for folks to get a reman'd dizzy than to try to replace the stator themselves.

I ordered the ccrm from autozone just had them look up oem number(f6sz12b577aa) 79.99. Price matched to advance auto parts. Dealer wants 209.00 crazy.it will be here in 1-1/2days. I'll posts if it works. Picture looks the same. Praying it works. If not than trying fuel pump.

Man you better look at that page again! It's 50 bucks!

and to the OP, if you buy a 94/95 Cobra, it'll have the exact same dizzy so you'll be back at square one. Put it this way, if your distributor hasn't gone out yet, it will! It's only a matter of time. So by changing it now, even if it doesn't fix your problem, you'll have avoided a potentially stranding situation in the future.

trust us, just change it and be done.

you asked for help. You have received wise help. You are not responding to the said help.......Replace the dizzy or stator. They all go bad eventually on the 94-95's.

94302 I put in the ccrm and it still would not start. However I gave it a shot of starting fluid and it fired right up. The ccrm has improved idle and driveability. I'm going go ahead and replace the fuel pump. If that does not work than I'll try a mass air meter.

I just don't see how the CCRM can improve anything. It is a box that contains ON/OFF relays. It either turns stuff on or it turns them off. But, go ahead and change all that.. report your findings! Good luck.

Ok my car has been sitting in front of my house for about 5 days now and has not started at all since i last used it. I haven't gotten the dizzy replaced yet cuz im kinda broke right now and since it won't start i have to get it towed to the shop. Getting it towed in that condition is better so that my mechanic can check it out and see for himself what the problem is and HOPEFULLY he can figure it out! So i will let you guys know if replacing the dizzy works or not. Also i would like to put this out there... I remember a while back he had just replaced the cap and rotor on the car and the next morning i tried starting it up and it did not fire up at all. That was the first time it gave me that problem but like an idiot i ignored it hoping it was just a one time thing, so that is why i'm hoping that it is the dizzy that went bad.

Just to make sure you're on the same page. The problem isn't the dizzy per se but likely the stator (PIP) which is a sensor pressed onto the distributor shaft. As was mentioned earlier most reman distributors use the old stator. If the car is going to a shop and they confirm the stator just have it replaced with a new one.

Just had my car towed to the shop yesterday since it hasn't started since last weekend so now i'm going to wait until they check it out on monday and if it is the stator (PIP) of course i will tell them to just replace the dizzy for a spankin new one. I'll let u know what happens.
