Would having the 2 vacuum lines going to the EGR vacuum regulator unplugged cause the car to not perform as well? I noticed that mine weren't connected today and I'm wondering if it being like that would have been affecting my times at the track

Like would it cause the computer to pull timing or something like that?

I would say no. The EGR V/R is related to the emissions back-up system. It's only used when the engine reaches a certain heat level, then it turns on. Under full throttle, it's not an issue. At idle maybe, but the most you should expect is a CE light. Stupid emissions control.

Actually I found out that with it unplugged the EGR wasn't recirculating exhaust gases properly producing more NOx and making a lean condition...which inturn could cause detonation that the knock sensors would detect and cause timing to be pulled...
