Hey guys, I'm looking to do something original on my mustang and I noticed on the left side of my steering wheel I have a dead switch below the lights switch. Is there some way I can make this swich operational, I think it would be a cool way to arm nitrous. Is this possible?

Here's pictures, note its the button below the lights...

Thanks!

It would most likley be impossible with that switch, it is not functional on LX's.. The only way it might be possible is if you bought the GT switch and did some good rigging

Maybe a junkyard switch from a GT would work? Do those easily pop out of there? I'm looking for a concealed switch, something that looks stock but has a hidden feature...

They come out pretty easily.
On the left side behind the buttons push the 2 prongs in with your fingers, and the left side will start to come out, and then pull the right side and the whole thing comes out.

great! another idea could be to use the switch on the right side of the wheel (for the window defrost), my stang wont be seeing any winter duty anyhow....

That would work too, I think, and it has a little indicator light which would tell you if it is on rather than the switch being comressed to tell you it's on. It just depends how it would stay on. I thought the defrost turned itself off after a while, but that may not matter if you rig up your own stuff to it.

Well I'll have to look into it, I've never used the defrost... so... I'll keep ya posted. That little LED might come in handy though. Thanks guys .

You can use the GT switch, and there should even be the wiring pigtail in there. My last LX had one there, just not plugged in. I used it to power an electric fan tho.

The rear defrost does turn itself off after a while, but once you get your own rig in there that shouldn't happen. I would attempt to change the color of the indicator light in some way too, unless you're going for a total stealth sort of look.
