The speedo is mechanical.. check to make sure the speedo cable is hooked up to the tranny and to the back of the gauge, you'll have to pull the cluster out to do that.
You have to remove the panel below the steering wheel, the plastic surrounding the steering column, and the cluster shroud to get to it. It's like 10 screws, doesn't take long at all. You'll need a small torx bit and a phillips screwdriver.
rockin. Ill takle that tomorow. Where on the tranny does it plug in (t5)?
And if thats all hooked up, is there anything else I should check while Ive got the cluster out?
thankss

If you jack your car up you can follow the speedo cable from under the hood to the tranny, it's up towards the front on the driver's side. The only reasons your speedo won't physically move are A) cable is disconnected from one end, B) cable is bad or the drive/driven gear is stripped, or C) the speedo itself is broken (pretty unlikely).. My personal guess would be whoever swapped the cluster when they did the conversion didn't snap the cable on the back of the speedo correctly and it fell off.
well I found the problem, the jackass that had the car before me had the speedo cable sittin on the exhaust. Melted through. Im workin on getting a parts car, otherwise I guess Ill buy one.
