Up to what RPMs can I safely go up to?

I know my motor isn't the best, but a local mustang guy told me that after the valvespring and 1.7 rocker install I should be able to shift at 6k. Is it a good idea. I know that the best way to tell would be on the dyno, but off the bat, could my car be able to make power all the way there. Last time I dynoed it, my rpm hit the limiter at 5400 and my curve was still climbing.

I have the cobra intake, gt40 heads, e303 cam, 1.7 rockers, comp cam valvesprings(not sure on the rate) and stock lifters and pushrods(came with the heads). And if it matters, 4.10 gears.

My car with only tb, maf, and edelbrock performer, hit 6k easily. On the dyno it made power all the way to 6k then dropped hugh, now I should be able to spin it up to 6500 rpm with the new cam and reworked AFR's, ohh and performer rpm II intake. When its done i'll post my results.

My car is getting a t5 swap as we speak. It should be ready by tonight. He's switching out to the manual computer as well. That should release at least 20hp/tq to the wheels. I'm also installing the 65mm TB and 93 tb conversion on my car. The outcome should be extremely noticeable. I can't wait.

... as we speak? why arent you saving some bucks and doing it yourself? you're making me feel like im making the wrong decision doing it by myself after finals in may... by the way, where did you get all of your parts, including tranny, and if you dont mind me asking, how much did that set ya back?

The guy made me a good deal. I just couldn't pass it up. I sold a cobra intake I had laying around to one of his customers for $300 and used that to pay him for what he charged me which was $600 for everything, including pedals, computer, tranny(of course), harness, new clutch and pressure plate(he had laying around) 3 month warranty, and the labor. I just couldn't say no to that. So basically, I spent $300 for everything. :nice:

wow, i feel screwed, just parts alone for me should end up being just short of 2 G's, with everything and upgraded shifter, clutch, quad. etc... plus doing it all myself... did you have to swap the driveshaft as well, or did you re-use the auto one?
