I've got the left side almost done. The quarter is about 80% on. I used a 67/68 outer wheel well and then notched the frame moving the inner all the way to the frame. I added about a 2.5 inch strip of metal onto the inner well. I had to weld the seam between the rocker and quarter (but wanted to do this anyways). Someday I am going to try to write up the entire procedure. It has all been a big experiment.

Nice work!
I really like the way the flair looks, like it could have come out of the factory that way.
Very cool.
I will look forward to seeing more pictures as you fit the tire/wheel, and get the car on the ground.
It's amazing the amount of stupid little details that can make or break it.
Great job man!

Nice, I am planning to do exactly the same thing soon. What do you think is the widest tire you can fit back there now?

I got a leaf spring relocation kit from moneymaker. I added 3 inches to my wheel wells so hopefully I can fit at least a 12 inch tire.

The mini tub looks like it is coming out well.

I would love to see a couple pictures of the leaf spring relocation kit.

I haven't put it in yet (relocation kit). Basically it is metal two blocks (mopar part) that fit the front of the leaf spring. You weld these to the floor inside the frame. I plan on putting a 9"x9" 3/16 sheet of metal under them and then tie it to the frame. Then for the rear you use the stock mounting and some shackles (mopar part again) that move the spring in. I am going to use the flexi form fiberglass leaf springs and caltracs. Once I get the them put in I'll post pics. It will be awhile, I am going to do the right side tub, wheel well, and quarter first.

Good description--definitely post the pics when you get there.

Do you think that you can still use the factory gas tank with the spring relocation kit?

Does anyone else have pics of this mod?

I am planning on using the factory gas tank. Hopefully it will fit. The guy I bought them from (moneymaker) had a post of his car with the leafs located inboard on mustangsandmore.com. He has ladder bars with a a floater, so a little different. And I think he had the factory tank, I can't remember.

Cool, thanks. I'll stay tuned to see how it works for you.

I have dealt with Alex before and he is a top notch knowledgeable Mustang parts guy.
