we just to let you all know what happend finally had got the car running from breaking the axle!! and put in some 4.10s car felt awesome pulled hard as hell even would spins the drags in second gear!! put about 250 miles went out a couple nights and raced a few unsuspecting ls1's!!!
we'll decide it was time to go back out to the track and get my coveted 11 sec slip on drag radials!!! we got there and made a few passes in my friend 04gt played with his tune xc2 getting it dialed in while i let my car cool off!!
then decide to make a pass pulled up did my burn out and staged was leaving around 5'000rpms before the gear swap and was cutting 1.73 so this time just to make some first test passes i left around 3500rpms left really good could tell it was a pretty good 60ft when to shift to 2nd perfect got back in and she just let out a loud bang and the motor shut off!!! still got my slip from tech it was a 1.71 60ft
well could not getted fired up at the track so got a flatbed to take me home!! mind u i was pretty upset this was the second time it broke at the track back to back times!!!
we'll finally tore down some of the motor and found out i dropped the #5exhaust valve and embedded it inside between both valves!!
looks like a chipmunk went to town on the head and the piston!!
so sent the heads off to ed at FTI to see if they can be repaired and then gonna see where to go from there in the mean time i am tearing down everything in the engine bay and going to repaint it the lazer red color and clean it up some more almost semi-show but just want it to be clean!!!
so have not yet got the 11.9x slip but got pretty close before the gear swap 12.23@113.27 gonna pick up a k-member here at funford at the end of the month and lose some weight!! car weighed 3040 with out me in it before the gear swap so hopefully should be around 2990 before me!!! still with a/c p/s and smog pump not bad for a little ole GTS car!! with a 6speed!!!
