My girlfriend and I are getting free upholstery lesons, the only seats we have to use are out of my 78 II that's still getting rewired. Now, I don't intend on even using these seats so I'm willing to upholster them for the experience and let them go for cost.

The only reason I'm posting this before I upholster them is so that I can get fabric that someone would want. I was thinking of doing them like my 90 GT Convertable seats, vinyl backing and sides with tweed inserts (sitting on hot vinyl really sucks).

If someone's interested in getting these I'd like to know what kind of fabric and design you'd like. In addition I'll provide complete pictures before any money is exchanged.

I'm doing this because, well, the lessons are free, I don't need these seats and can't find any I do want yet. This will be a great learning experience for my girlfriend and myself as well as a way to help out a fellow Two'er.

Remember, if by some chance these turn out like crap (highly doubtable considering the experience of the person teaching), I don't expect the purchase, I just want to get colors and design for someone who's interested.

It is nice of you to offer. I took upholstering classes as well and learned a tremendous amount. I made my front seats with black vinyl and grey velvet for the inserts. The hardest part is sewing those long exposed seams down the middle.

My seats are vinyl sides and cloth down the middle. I had the front and rear done. It cost around $700.

The one that's done looks kinda like that, but the cloth extends to the entire part you sit on, so no sitting on hot vinyl. I have one seat done and it cost me about $120 in materials. I found a local guy who wants them so I have to withdraw the offer.
