Upper intake problem

As I figured, the upper intake does not clear the valve covers. I figure I have 2 options:

1) Grind down the EGR casting because I now longer have EGR anyway.
2) Put a 1" spacer between the upper/lower plenum.

The only problem is I have my hood off and I don't know if my upper will clear it with the 1" spacer. I can get a 3/8" spacer for free, it just might be this afternoon before I can get it. Will the 1" work? Or will I need a 3/8"? Or how hard is it to grind down the EGR casting? Thanks guys!

I just ground down the bottom of the EGR and the vacuum fitting on the drivers side. I have a cobra intake and fox covers of that helps ya any. Good Luck

They make EGR delete plates for like 20$

i made my own plate out of some aluminum i had in my garage...

traced the EGR gasket onto the ALUM
cut it out, drilled holes for bolts
went around edges with RTV
stuck it on and bolted it in place
done

I just ground off the EGR casting and got a 3/8" spacer from a friend. Problem solved.
