UPR Billet Clutch Quadrant Kit - Got a ?

Someone at the Ford dealership is smoking a huge rock of crack. That much for a cable is insane.

MaximumMotorsports sells the same Motorcraft cable as the stealerships. Grab that, and pick up the UPR triple-hook quadrant and Xtreme firewall adjuster combo. It'll replace the crappy factory plastic quad and pawl that are prone to strip out/break/squeak/otherwise make life less happy.

You could re-use your cable without problems, if you're sure it's not very stretched out, doesn't show signs of fraying, and it still moves pretty smoothly. Whether you use the new or old cable, give it a liberal dose of powdered graphite during the install of the other bits to help lube things up a bit. Don't forget to take the rubber grommet off the firewall end of the cable, as the firewall adjuster takes its place.

You'll likely have to use the first (shortest) hook on the quad and crank that adjuster out almost all the way, although if your cable's stretched out a bit, you might be able to hook it on the second with minimal turn-out on the adjuster.

Diversified sells OEM cables for 40 bucks. I just got one - very nice piece.

If using that cable, I personally would NOT use any lubricant on the cable. It is tefon lined and any other additional lubing is unnecessary. Furthermore the cable will now have an affinity for allowing dirt to attach to it..........

If the old cable feels bad enough that it seems to need lubing, I would just get a new one.

If you have LT's, the SN95 cable from MM sounds like the way to go.

Good luck.

thanks guys

I'll try using my old cable then, it still feels soild, and smooth.......and i'll pick up the adjuster thing
or, what about the maximum motorsports cable, and quad, and adjuster kit..........andyone ever use these?
