Is the UPR CAI kit that mounts into the fender well any good ? I am torn between the mac straight shot and the upr fender mounted kit.

Get a new throttle body when you get whichever intake you decide on. Personally I'd take the MAC straight shot, because the fenderwell is a pain to install. Either would be good though, its pretty much a toss up.

MAC is metal, it will heat up the air rather than cooling it down!
The UPR may not look as good but for sure will give better results...

I hope you are kidding!

I wouldn't get either. You'll get better gains from a plenum and throttle body.

No, I just find it hilarious that people are gullible(sp) enough to buy into this. I wouldnt buy one on the principal that they are claiming these absurd gains.

I had the UPR intake...took them 2 weeks to get the thing to me, then it came poorly packaged in a smashed up box...but the intake was ok. Then when I put the intake on, it blocked the oil cap so you had to loosen the intake to get the oil cap off. Got frustrated with it and just took the stupid thing off. It didn't do anything anyway.

In other words...just get a K&N filter and don't waste your money

If 175 of you will send me $1 each, I will buy the straight shot. My car is bone stock save for looks. I will run the before and after dyno and end the argument once and for all. Any takers?

I had a really bad experience with UPR. I would recommend buying something besides UPR products. They screwed me out of $120.00 with nothing to show for it. Long story.

If you're concerned about engine bay vs. fender temperatures, this might help... http://forums.stangnet.com/showpost.php?p=4330287&postcount=3

I purchased the UPR Cold Air Kit over a year ago and have had not problems. I did notice a increase in performance but cannot tell you the specifics of HP. Yes it does have a tendency to block the oil filler cap, but with a but of adjusting and a longer rubber connector hose for one of connecting metal lines, it installed great and, well, personally I like it. But that is just my two cents!

Well, yea. I could spend the time reading about people's speculations and claims, or I could check it out myself. Hehehehe...

PM me with details when you have a chance. I now work for UPR Products and want to know about any issues you had with us.
